Purpose of Position: Prepare medicions prescribed by physician, or other authorized prescribers for nursing facilities and behavioral healthcare center residents in a manner th maximizes quality and pient safety as reguled by Tennessee Ste Law, CMS, DEA and nursing facility guidelines.

Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

• Prepare medicions by reviewing and interpreting prescribed medicions orders, detecting therapeutic incompibilities.
• Direct and verify pharmacy technician order fulfillment; verifying their order entry da, medicion preparion and labeling of pharmaceuticals
• Correspond with lead pharmacy technician on daily RX capacity to ensure effective workflow and efficient medicion delivery
• Provide pharmacological informion to facilities and other health care professionals on drug interaction, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceutical’s
• Maintain pharmacy services procedures to ensure quality assurance and security concerning order, delivery and prepacking verificion and controlled substance records as required by law
• Provide after hour on-call coverage as required
• Communice informion effectively to supervisor and others in a timely mter
• Maintain proficiency with computer systems
• Analyze processes and work with employees to develop and implement ways to improve internal and external quality and continually seek ways for improvement
• Maintain confidentiality of work-reled informion and merials in compliance with HIPAA regulions
• Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violions
• Knowledgeable and compliant with current company policies and procedures and ste and federal regulions
• Attends meetings and in-services as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge:

• Work requires advanced knowledge of geriric pharmacy, medicion dispensing software and practices, CMS and other ste/federal regulions

Required Skills:

• Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstre, with or without reasonable accommodions, th the essential functions of the job can be performed
• Maintaining an established work schedule
• Effectively using interpersonal and communicions skills including tact and diplomacy
• Effectively using organizional and planning skills with tention to detail and follow through
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relionships
• Effectively demonstres accuracy and thoroughness and continually strives to improve quality standards

Required Work Experience:

• One (1) to Three (3) years of pharmacy experience

Preferred Computer Skills:

• Framework LTC Software System
• Framework ECM Software System

Certificion Requirements:

• Active Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License
  • Must complete continuing educion as required by Tennessee Department of Health

Educion Requirements:

• Gradue of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Educion with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent

Additional position informion: After hours on-call rotion 1 weekend about every 5-6 weeks and 1 night during the week
