This desk was built in 1980 by the foremost artisan in the Philippines as a gift to my late wife whose (then) husband was stationed there. According to them, it is made of Monkey Pod wood. I cannot vouch for that fact as it is stained in a dark shade. All I can say is that is very beautiful and was once appraised at over $5,000. It has a matching seat mounted on casters, which has a fold up cushion hiding storage underneath. This matching chair fits seamlessly INTO the desk. On either side of the seat are three drawers, of which two are folder sized, for a total of six lower drawers. There are three drawers and six pigeon holes under the tambour top, and an additional five drawers above it. This desk is 53-1/4" w x 53-1/2"t x 25" deep. I prefer local pick-up, but I am willing to ship it anywhere provided you pay for crating and cartage.
