Howdy, my name’s GOMER!

I’m not one of those fancy dogs! I’m just a country boy! I was raised kind of rough until a real nice lady brought me to Miss Babe’s! I don’t remember too much about it now since I’m putting all those bad times behind me! I do remember being left with no food and no water and ALL ON MY OWN when I was about 4 months old! All I’m going to say about that is, “THANK GOODNESS FOR THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS!” I’m very good-natured, love to play and I come most of the time when called. I think I am some kind of lab mix . . . not very tall, but I have a good build. I need a LOVING FOREVER home!

Miss Babe’s Update (9/9/08): Gomer is at the vet’s, he will be neutered in the morning and is having all of his big boy shots at the same time. He's a great little dog. Very laid back, weighed in at 29 pounds, has short legs and is very stocky. I think maybe there is some basset in the mix somewhere. He may also have some pit, his head and ears kind of look that way. He is not aggressive at all. He plays with puppies a lot younger than he is and is very good with them. He has been socialized since he came to the refuge. He is currently getting a little time on the leash at least three days a week and more if I can find the time. He knows “SIT” and “STAY”. He is reluctant to go in his kennel after playtime because he's not ready to stop playing. He has not been around any small children although one of our volunteers is ten and he loves playing with him.
